Recent testimony about an old observation for which the witness had not been able to give the exact date in his questionnaire. After a telephone conversation with the witness, he confirms the date of March 19, 1967, and that the luminous manifestations reported on Radio Limoges took place in the vicinity of La Chapelle-Taillefert in the Creuse. On March 19, 1967, around 11 p.m., a motorist at the edge of the town of Mortemart (Haute-Vienne) is intrigued by a luminous phenomenon in the sky. He stops to observe for 10 minutes in a southeast direction a luminous object moving silently. The UAP makes successive stops and the light intensity varies during the observation, which does not allow the witness to define with certainty a discoidal shape. The object finally disappears at the horizon. No particular noise is heard. Resuming his drive, a few minutes later, the motorist is again intrigued by the passage at low altitude behind his car of a reddish glow. He observes a few kilometers further on, in open countryside, a dome lit from the inside: the motorist stops and notes that this UAP seems to be resting on the ground about twenty meters from the road. Despite their son's insistence and because they were impressed, the witness and his wife resume their journey to get home as quickly as possible. No other testimony will be collected on this phenomenon. This observation took place on the evening of the referendum initiated by General de Gaulle. This testimony of a strange distant phenomenon does not correspond to any of the classic misidentifications. Since it was received long after the observation, and the witness is unique, GEIPAN classifies it as a low-consistency case, despite the good quality of the testimony. If other similar testimonies were to come close to this one, this case could gain consistency. The witness told us by phone that there might possibly have been other similar testimonies near Guéret. GEIPAN classifies this case "C" pending other testimonies.
