On March 19, 1979, between 11:10 PM and 11:15 PM, two witnesses observed from their villa a luminous phenomenon that intrigued them. Looking through a window, they saw a large sphere of a bluish-white color hovering about fifty meters above the ground. This phenomenon was observed for about thirty seconds before gradually going out. That night, a violent storm hit Nice and lightning bolts streaked across the sky.
