In the night of March 11, 1979, around 12:45 AM, several people witnessed a particular luminous phenomenon. They were dazzled by a very bright light of blue-green-mauve color that illuminated the surrounding landscape for about one minute. A power outage affected the entire municipality. A motorist states that he and his wife saw a slightly oval, motionless mass 15 to 20 meters from the ground. It suddenly went out, revealing a red-orange colored fire on each side of the mass. A fish farmer, woken in the night of March 11 by a crackling noise and an intense light, noted on Tuesday March 13 the death of many fish in one of his breeding ponds (1800 kg in total). A 10,000-volt electrical line passes over the pond, and in the night of March 14 to 15, one of these wires gave way: it was deteriorated over 4 to 5 meters in length.
