Buzzing in Jura, France

On June 13, 1977, at around 12:05 AM, motorists notice that the road lights up as if in broad daylight for 4 to 5 seconds, and they see a ball followed by a trail moving from west to east. This ball emits crackling sounds. It disappears quickly, hidden by the landscape. Other witnesses in the surrounding area will hear a blast or see a flash. The gendarmerie found no trace of any impact in the area. These people were probably witnesses to an atmospheric reentry.
