Hovering in Gers, France
On October 8, 1977, at half past midnight, a motorist and his passenger were startled by a luminous object that seemed to hover over their vehicle and that landed in a field at the edge of the road. The craft, rounded in shape, was fitted with two nozzles spewing flames that lit up the entire horizon. The witnesses remained deeply shocked by what they had seen.
Following the gendarmerie investigation, the witnesses admitted that they had been deceived by two flare stacks that were lit and that, at times and depending on wind direction, threw tall flames toward the sky.
