An account in C�tes-d'Armor, France

The witness hears airplane engine noises and observes several luminous balls moving very fast in several directions. Two planes are maneuvering near these balls. The witness observed a similar phenomenon the previous week (September 14, 2015), and finds that this new observation is a logical continuation. The witness gave two very similar testimonies on September 14 and 23, 2015, from the same location and at the same time (around 10:30 PM). Each time, there is an environment perfectly noted by the witness of military air operations, with descriptions by the witness in terms of planes with their noises and contrails. Furthermore, the witness states that it made him "think of the very recent exercises (early September) of Rafale planes by the seaside (Roscoff/St-Pol-de-Leon border) flying at low altitude (exercises?) 'for hours they passed over our heads at low altitude!'" and he specifies for September 14 that "For me, it's almost certain that on Monday 14/9, it was military planes." In this environment of air operations, here is what surprises the witness on September 14: - "2 very loud and distinct noises (like a 'missile' or a huge firework firecracker without detonation) made me look out the window." - a UAP that appears to him different from the planes maneuvering in the sky because it is in the form of a spherical ball and that at one moment released a luminous curtain toward the ground. And what surprises the witness on September 23: - "several (4 or 5) 'luminous balls' (much brighter than the few pale stars that were appearing) moving very fast in different directions (could make one think of a 'ballet') appearing and disappearing alternately at high speed." - "two planes (identifiable by the white trails they formed) near these luminous balls (I only saw 2, maybe there were more, given the noise). The phenomenon lasted about 1 to 2 minutes, the 'luminous balls' disappeared quickly, only the planes remained visible and audible." The UAP zone, as reported by the witness relative to his location (SW or SE depending on the day, 14 or 23), and also as drawn on the map by the witness, corresponds to a low-altitude military flight zone (see 2015 RTBA map). The witness therefore attended air exercises on two occasions. In such a context, what seemed strange to the witness is a priori not strange. These exercises can, for example, give rise to tests of luminous infrared flare launches that can produce strange glows for anyone who would have difficulty associating them with the context of maneuvers and exercises (see the article: Flare ammunition and military flares as UFO generators). No other witness has reported to GEIPAN to report oddities about these events, which nevertheless attracted attention in the sky at least by their noise (as in the case of this testimony). Consequently, GEIPAN classifies the cases of September 14 and 23 as B: planes.
