Red lights in Bas-Rhin, France
On June 22, 1976 at around 10:15 PM, several people in cars observed the rapid and silent movements, very high in the sky, of a red glow that intrigued them. This phenomenon, stationary above the oil terminal, reportedly then passed over the Herrlisheim-Drusenheim refinery before heading toward the Rhine and Germany. One of the witnesses took several photographs, but the film turned out to be unusable. Two refinery employees reported that they had seen from their homes a bright object in the east-northeast direction indicated by the first witness, but none of the guards on duty at the refinery saw any object above the facility.
