An account in Runion, France
From his south-facing window, a witness observes, on 11 March 2014 at 3:05 a.m., on his left, therefore toward the east, a very bright point slowly rising in the sky for 40 minutes. The diagram produced by the witness places the phenomenon at an azimuth of 109°. The sky chart shows the planet Venus, brilliant in the morning sky at azimuth 107° at its rise (see the two charts produced by the Winstars software at 3:05 a.m. and 3:40 a.m., in the direction indicated by the witness (109°)). GEIPAN classifies this case 'A': observation of the planet Venus. The witness did not recognize Venus, perhaps because a celestial body at the horizon is often not recognized as a celestial body, but as an object flying over the landscape, but also because there were particular weather conditions that night: Infoclimat indicates a humidity of only 66%, therefore exceptional sky clarity, rare in this region (see weather data from 10 to 11 March. The other readings of the week indicate at least 76% humidity). If it had been a phenomenon other than Venus, since the witness was looking exactly in the direction of this planet, the witness should have seen in the sky the phenomenon AND Venus.
