Haute-Savoie, France · 2013-10-01 · from the GEIPAN archive
On October 1, 2013 at around 9:30 PM, a witness observed a light on the horizon from her home. Together with her partner, she observed the disappearance of the UAP and then the rapid passage of three flashing lights. This passage was accompanied by a resonant noise, similar to that of an airplane. Of average strangeness and low consistency (single witness, short-duration observation), this case may be a misidentification with the star Arcturus followed by a formation of airplanes. However, the lack of precision in the testimony (difference in direction between the account and the sketches), and the lack of information on air traffic prevent the formal identification of the UAP. It is not the witness's visual perception that is in question, but the interpretation that the witness makes of her observation through her feelings (astonishment, nighttime observation). This case is classified as C, due to a lack of information allowing the verification of the proposed hypotheses.
