An orange orb in Haute-Garonne, France

On July 14, 2013 at around 11:45 PM, a witness observed 5 orange light sources moving in the sky over Toulouse. The witness then made a second observation of the movement of a slightly opalescent and transparent ovoid phenomenon standing out against the dark background of the sky. The beginning of the observation (orange light sources moving in a straight line) matches very well the observation of Thai lanterns, flying from West to East with the light westerly wind (see Meteociel data). The date of July 14 is of course favorable for this kind of event. The second phenomenon is more suggestive of a reflection of the sun on a satellite. The Calsky website does indicate at that exact moment a reflection of this type on the Iridium 70 satellite, but observable to the Northeast, fairly low on the horizon, which does not match the testimony well. It could also be a reflection on another satellite not listed. The coincidence between these two independent events is obviously surprising, but not impossible. GEIPAN classifies this case "B": probable observation of Thai lanterns, then a reflection on a satellite.
