An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, France

On August 8, 2012, a witness lying on a terrace was looking at the starry sky when he followed for 5 seconds the straight-line movement of an object he did not recognize. The object had the shape of a "weaver's shuttle," brown-green in color, with blurred edges. At the center of the object, a dark red round shape was seen. The whole thing therefore seemed very blurry but remained identifiable against the background of the sky, which it obscured. No noise was heard during the straight-line movement from NE to SW. The object moved with its long axis oriented perpendicular to the direction of motion. Only one testimony was collected. Given the objective elements collected during the investigation (see the investigation report), namely: - Shape and appearance of the UAP. - Speed and trajectory inconsistent with a passive object pushed by the wind present on the day and at the time of the observation. - Estimated speed and/or altitude and/or size inconsistent with those of a manufactured motorized craft (no noise heard). We can conclude that the UAP observed by the witness resembles no known object or phenomenon. This case is to be classified as "D1" as an observation of an unidentified phenomenon. This testimony is of good consistency: precise and containing many details, but observed from afar, by a single witness, and without a photo. The observation is strange because it involves a UAP having an uncommon appearance that is difficult to compare to anything known.
