An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Yonne, France

From his garden, a witness observes with the naked eye on July 8, 2012 around 11:30 PM, a luminous point in a clear and open sky. The trajectory of the point, first straight, continues in a zigzag oriented North-South, for several minutes. No other testimony will be collected on this phenomenon. The witness's description, for the straight part of the trajectory, clearly suggests a satellite, many of which pass at that hour (see Calsky list). The zigzag at the end of the trajectory is not ordinary, but may be the consequence of the physiological phenomenon of autokinesis (see pages 26 and 27 of the document "Aids to identification of flying objects" available on the GEIPAN website currently via the news). Several satellites are candidates according to the Calsky site, IGS 1A seems to match best (see satellite passage document). GEIPAN classifies this case "B": probable observation of a satellite, perceived over part of its trajectory with an autokinetic phenomenon.
