An account in Dr�me, France

On July 5, 2012 at 10:22 PM, a witness (T1) and his wife are in their living room and hear the sound of a jet aircraft passing overhead. T1 goes outside his home. He is surprised by the presence in the sky of two white lights followed at a distance by three "fighter" aircraft flying at low altitude. The UAPs are lost from view, hidden by the landscape. Other testimonies are collected about the aircraft passing (see the investigation report). One witness (T3) will make a statement to the gendarmerie. Given the elements collected in the attached investigation report, the only hypothesis considered is confusion with the rear position lights of fighter aircraft, increased by the poor observation conditions and possibly by multiple passes of the same aircraft, the first two of which may not yet have turned on their landing lights. This testimony is of very good quality (concise, very precise, neutral, and written very quickly after the observation), and of good consistency because, although coming from a single witness and without photos, we were able to rely on a second testimony filed with the Gendarmerie to study the hypothesis. The observation is ultimately not very strange because the UAPs are, after investigation, easily characterizable. The strangeness was at first mainly created by the fact that witness number 1 had not observed the first aircraft during their initial approach phase, their landing lights possibly being off and the observation conditions being unfavorable. GEIPAN classifies this case as "B" as probable confusion with the navigation lights of fighter aircraft.
