An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Oise, France

On July 23, 2011, at around 11:30 PM, two people observed a group of orange lights moving across the sky. They gradually disappeared toward the horizon. The witnesses' account, the video, the photos (especially DSC03604.JPG), and the wind direction (from the northwest) are all consistent with the observation of Thai lanterns, probably released in the Compiègne forest. The day and time (a Saturday in the late evening) are also typical for a lantern release at the end of a party. Because of the photo, which allows the lantern to be discerned, this case is classified as "A."
