On December 21, 2008 at 7:46 p.m., a motorist and his passenger noticed a phenomenon in the sky that intrigued them. Stopping the car, the witnesses observed for several minutes three circles of yellow-orange light moving silently. The description of the phenomenon: 3 orange balls moving for a few minutes in the direction of the wind (light west wind that evening, see weather report) matches perfectly the characteristics of Thai lanterns; the witnesses' account gives details that reinforce this hypothesis: "fitted with a ring," "yellow-orange color, like a lighter flame."
