An account in Vende, France

In the night of July 3 to 4, 1997 at 4 a.m., a witness at the helm of his sailboat observes an intense glow that descends rapidly for 2 to 3 seconds, stabilizes for a few moments, then takes off again very quickly horizontally and disappears in about 2 or 3 seconds. The witness calls his two crewmates who were sleeping to tell them about his observation, when they witness a second phenomenon shaped like an ochre-yellow diamond with lights at the corners. The object moved very quickly at cloud height and disappeared after 10 to 15 seconds. The phenomena observed were not explained.
