An orange orb in Nord, France

On August 1, 1981 at around 8:30 PM, a motorist saw due west a red fireball that split into two. Gradually diminishing and turning a more orange color, this phenomenon disappeared by blending into the mist. No sound was heard during the observation. Certain elements describe a probable observation of the setting sun, as 2 of the witnesses also indicate.
