An open record of things people cannot explain

A low hum in Germany, Frielendorf

humming of machinery in a distant part of a huge building, as if picked up through bone conduction. Maybe like pressing the ear to the bulkhead of a spaceship you're traveling on. Does the sound fluctuate? To me that's an important characteristic of the sound. It's not a simple steady sound, but one that fluctuates in intensity/volume, from hardly noticable, to very noticable, and the interval. For me, it's irregularly, between 5 and 30 seconds. It has a very organic characteristic, very random. Some volume drop-offs can be as sharp as half a second.

What they reported

First noticed: 2017

Pitch: roughly 70hz, however, when I notice the sound, it's almost like there are two very similar wavelengths out of phase with one another, so the combined intensity fluctuates

Loudest: Equal night and day

Where: Equal indoors and outdoors

Symptoms: Relaxation, sense of tuning in to an "ether" of sorts

Changes with weather: not sure

What stood out: a low hum
