On June 7, 1978, between 7:30 and 8:00 PM, three fishermen aboard a boat observed for several minutes a luminous phenomenon that intrigued them. A white light moved slowly along the coast, then came toward them. When it reached their position, the witnesses said they saw a craft with colored flames coming out of the rear, without any noise. Making a sudden change of direction to head back toward the coast, it disappeared suddenly, leaving the witnesses very impressed. Other witnesses made an observation that same evening, but according to the description given to the gendarmerie, it was probably the observation of a shooting star. The investigation determined that for the observation made by the fishermen, it could not have been an airplane or a boat, nor a weather balloon or signal lights. This case, despite an in-depth investigation, remains unidentified.
