An account in Moselle, France

On Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 7:37 PM, a witness at their window noticed the movement in the clear sky of a long white object. It moved quickly in a straight line toward the southeast. The witness filmed the scene, then after 50 seconds went back to what they were doing. Only one testimony was collected along with the video. The witness observed an airplane. The video shows the UAP passing transversally to the shot from the house facing southeast. There is indeed (see reconstruction) an airplane passing at that moment in a flight orientation from southwest to northeast, and therefore parallel to the horizon line, as indicated by the witness, at an elevation of about 45 degrees, consistent with the appearance of the video. The witness does not recognize the airplane even though there is airplane noise in the video. They are puzzled by: - the altitude lower than an airplane. Indeed, it is at an altitude of 9,000 meters, lower than a cruising flight; - the shape, indeed, it looks like a cigar. This is classic. When the sun is very low and lights the airplane in a strongly transverse way (sun due east), the fuselage reflects strongly and the only visible wing is lit along its cross-section and therefore in a way that reflects little or not at all; - the absence of contrails, contrails are far from systematic and depend on atmospheric conditions and/or altitude. Consequently, GEIPAN classifies the case as A: airplane.
