An account in Vend�e, France

On July 3, 2016 at around 1 a.m., a witness in a parking lot observes the successive appearance then the silent movement of several points of irregular oval shape and of a red yellow-orange color, particularly bright, in a clear and starry sky. The witness is frightened by these points that seem to draw closer. These points disappear hidden by the landscape. Only one testimony is collected. The witness probably observed Thai lanterns, which he failed to recognize due to lack of experience with this type of observation. The testimony is weakly consistent, little data being collected and usable. In particular, details are missing on the movement of the UAPs, trajectory, and final orientation. Nevertheless, video and photo analysis helps consolidate this hypothesis (see the investigation report). This case is classified as B, as the probable observation of a group of three Thai lanterns moving with the wind and launched on the occasion of a local festivity.
