On August 14, 2014 at around 9:20 a.m., a witness looking at the Moon is intrigued by 4 grouped objects of oval shape and white color in the clear sky. They seem static and disappear one by one. No particular noise is heard during the observation of one to two minutes. No other testimony has been collected. The witness observes in the sky toward the West white objects, oval in shape, not very mobile. The gendarmerie made searches on aircraft flights in this area, which turned out to be negative. One can think of balloons: the light North-West wind, which was clearly strengthening (the Mistral was rising) would then have pushed them in the direction of the witness, making them appear almost motionless. Nevertheless, a balloon release on a weekday at that time of day seems unusual, although it is the peak period of summer festivals. Lacking precise information to consolidate this hypothesis, and lacking cross-checks with other testimonies, GEIPAN classifies this case "C" for lack of information.
