An account in Bouches-du-Rh�ne, France

On March 31, 2013 in Marseille around 9:20 PM, three people see in the sky the silent movement of an object that is orange in color and intensely bright. The object comes from the West and passes over the witnesses' home, then turns to the right and disappears toward the Southeast. Only one testimony out of the three will be collected. It is noted that the direction of movement indicated by the witness (Salon de Provence toward Aubagne-Cassis, that is, Northwest and toward Southeast) is the same as the wind direction recorded at Marignane that evening. This observation has the characteristics of a Thai lantern (sky lantern): linear movement lasting a few minutes, silent, in the direction of the wind, orange color, on an evening of a public holiday. Due to the low strangeness of this case, GEIPAN did not do any research to find the person who released it. GEIPAN classifies this case "B": probable observation of a Thai lantern.
