Recent testimony about an old observation. In May 2015, GEIPAN received a testimony about an observation made on September 16, 2012. That evening, around 11:30 PM, a witness observed the silent passage of several white luminous points in the sky. The witness noted this on three occasions, the luminous points always following the same path. No other testimony was collected. The observation of luminous balls crossing the sky in a few minutes, on a weekend night, strongly suggests Thai lanterns, probably released nearby during a private party. The witness's video also shows successive disappearances of the lanterns, which is also typical (end of the burner's life). Consequently, GEIPAN classifies the case as B: probable Thai lanterns.
