An account in Alpes-Maritimes, France

A witness looks at the sky and more specifically at the constellation Orion on August 29, 2012 at 6 a.m. He sees for about 5 seconds a bright light cross the upper part of Orion, then continue on a straight trajectory before gradually disappearing toward the northeast. A check of satellite passes (see Calsky report) shows at that moment the passage of the Chinese space station Tiangong1 moving from west to east, very bright, and slightly above Orion (see sky chart). The witness indicating a southwest-to-northeast trajectory, GEIPAN classifies this case "B": probable observation of the Chinese space station Tiangong1.
