A witness reports observations of the sky made on April 8, 2012, first around 10 p.m. and then around 11:30 p.m. The witness films his last observation. The direction indicated by the witness (the Jura mountains) at an azimuth of around 290° coincides perfectly with the position of the planet Venus, which the witness does not mention, however. The planet Venus, particularly visible at that time, surprises many witnesses when it is low on the horizon: it is then interpreted as an object flying over the earth. The same celestial body, observed by the witness 1 hour 30 minutes earlier, was then high in the sky; it was not interpreted by the witness as a strange object. About the film: a luminous point on a black background filmed by a video camera with the zoom at full extension produces a number of optical and electronic artifacts: the diamond shape is the result of the shape of the camera's diaphragm, which appears when the focus is incorrect (at night, many cameras in autofocus mode search in vain to focus, and alternate between blurry and sharp images); the colors are more due to electronic noise and interference and optical aberrations (even with a very good quality camera) than to the image of the filmed object. The film therefore does not bring us much information about the observed object. This case is classified "A": observation of the planet Venus.
