An account in Val-d'Oise, France
On Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 9:05 PM, several people in a car are intrigued by a brief sighting of a blue phenomenon (described as a flash, a lightning bolt, a half circle). Arriving at his home and getting out of the vehicle, one of the passengers observes again for 5 to 7 seconds a particular phenomenon in the sky: the witness describes a large stationary wheel, orange in color and of significant diameter. It disappears instantly. None of the other witnesses saw this second phenomenon at that time.
The hypothesis of a Sky Tracker temporarily turned on (perhaps accidentally: the observation lasted only 5 to 10 seconds), and made particularly spectacular because of the fog, seems plausible; but this hypothesis could not be confirmed by the nightclub manager, and was completely refuted by the witness.
Given these contradictions, and given the brevity of the observation, GEIPAN classifies this case as "C": lack of reliable information.
The witness reports in 2013 having observed in August 1998 at 1:30 a.m. a luminous phenomenon, a sort of flash lasting one or two seconds maximum, appearing in all colors and across the enti…
