An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Charente-Maritime, France

On January 1, 2010 at around 8:10 PM, many people witnessed the passage of a luminous phenomenon in the sky. Eight testimonies reached us through the gendarmerie: two testimonies (T4 and T5 on the gendarmerie report) probably correspond to the observation on the mainland of a lantern (seen from Fouras and St Augustin) but are not to be linked with the object seen on the island by the other six witnesses. The person who released the lantern in Saint-Pierre d'Oléron came spontaneously to the gendarmerie to declare that he had launched, on January 1, 2010 between 8:00 PM and 8:15 PM, a "wish balloon" traditionally used at parties and birthdays in Holland. The case is classified A.
