An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Drôme, France

GEIPAN was contacted by the witness by email on Sunday, February 28, 2010, following the broadcast the day before of a program on TF1. The observation dates back to Saturday, May 23, 2009. While on vacation, the witness and their family saw a black rectangular object moving within their field of vision before disappearing by moving away at altitude. The witness sent the Terrestrial Questionnaire on May 12, 2009, almost a year after the events, along with a location map including the object's trajectory and a drawing of its shape. The characteristics of this observation case are not very strange, and not very consistent (a single observation report, without photos). The observed phenomenon is probably a balloon, but of a very unusual shape. Because of this, and since the lack of reliable weather data prevents verifying that the balloon's movement is consistent with the wind, GEIPAN classifies this case as "C": lack of information.
