On March 10, 2008, an amateur photographer sends to GEIPAN a photo taken from his window in Paris, from a series of 5 high-quality photos taken in burst mode. In this photo, an object appears with an elliptical shape, almost round, dark on the lower part and light on the upper part. The object is fairly sharp and seems to be lit by the sun. The investigation was assigned to Mr. Jean Marc Gillot, IPN in Paris (see the IPN report). Rearranging the photos in order, especially photos 4 and 5, shows without ambiguity that a pigeon coming from the witness's left passed into the frame of photo 4 before diving toward a window and being caught in the frame of photo 5. The photos taken are therefore indeed those of a pigeon, whose very round shape and "metallic" appearance misled the witness.
