On October 28, 1994 at 6:57 PM, the pilot of a DORNIER 228 aircraft reports, while stable at 10,000 feet, an unidentified traffic that he describes as an intense light with a significant yellow-orange trail moving at very high speed to pass above the aircraft in a west-east direction. The co-pilot confirms the phenomenon even though the assessment of the duration differs (12 seconds to 1 minute). Two other witnesses on the ground also report the passage of a bright light lasting about ten seconds. The air traffic was perfectly known and cannot explain the phenomenon. The most likely hypothesis is that of an atmospheric re-entry.
