An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in La Runion, France

On November 16, 1992, at around 4:30 a.m., a witness was awakened by a loud noise resembling a jet engine, with two flashes of light illuminating his bedroom. He then observed a large, very bright white luminous ball. After about ten seconds, a nearby villa was lit up in red, and with another noise the white light disappeared. This villa, which was uninhabited at the time of the events, suffered no damage. After the white light disappeared, a red point persisted above a tree, and a light fog remained at the spot where the white ball had been. Despite the noise mentioned, no other testimony could be found. However, a neighbor, although having seen nothing, noted around the same time that his dogs were very frightened. The observed phenomenon could not be identified.
