Red lights in Haute-Sane, France

On May 30, 1989 at around 11:15 PM, three game wardens on patrol observe 3 spotlights emitting very bright flashes at very close intervals. After about twenty seconds of immobility, these three lights depart vertically at very high speed and in zig-zags. After a few seconds, the phenomenon returns above the witnesses to stop at its starting point. A red light then turns on in the middle of the three beams before departing again, changing direction several times. A Jaguar fighter jet passed shortly after but it could not be confused with the observed phenomenon, which remained silent. Investigations carried out with the nearby air base did not confirm the testimony of the 3 witnesses. The observed phenomenon could not be identified.
