This observation case, formerly known as TRUN (61) 06.09.1988, is one of the cases classified as "D" by SEPRA. It was recently re-examined (see the document Investigation Notes). The described phenomenon presents many common characteristics (observation duration, shape, size, color) with a perfectly known astronomical object: the planet Mars. Moreover, Mars was visible in the axis indicated by the witnesses, and was particularly bright at that time. It is not the witnesses' visual perception that is at issue, but the interpretation the witnesses make of their observation through their feelings (fatigue, fear, night driving). In the current GEIPAN classification, this case of low strangeness is classified as UAP A, an observation linked to a misidentification with the planet Mars.
