An account in Gers, France
On Saturday, March 24, 1984, starting at 5:50 a.m., five nuns from a convent watched for 10 minutes the movements of an unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP) in the morning sky. This object, oval in shape, shone in the night while making very rapid movements from left to right and from bottom to top. The witnesses stopped observing to resume their activities, leaving the UAP still visible in an easterly direction. This case (formerly named SARAMON (32)) is part of a set of observation cases currently being re-examined (see the document Investigation Notes). This case is consistent (five witnesses), and the description of the observed UAP is fairly precise. The sincerity and credibility of the witnesses have never been questioned. The described phenomenon shares many common characteristics (observation duration, shape, size, color) with a skytracer-type light display. Additionally, the observation date (Saturday morning) matches a typical day for using this device, and there were clouds that could reflect a skytracer. However, due to the uniqueness of the observation by the same witnesses or by neighbors, and due to the impossibility of verification with the nightclubs of that time, this hypothesis could not be verified. It is not the witnesses' visual perception that is in question, but the interpretation they make of their observation through their feelings (astonishment, nighttime observation of a new artificial device at the time of the events). In the current GEIPAN classification, this case of low strangeness is classified as "C," due to a lack of cross-checking, although it resembles a misidentification with a skytracer.
This observation case, classified "C" by GEPAN, is now part of a re-examination (see the document Investigation Notes). On February 5, 1977, between 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM, two people in Reims …
