Strangers who were not talking to each other described an orange orb, screaming or howling, a very tall figure within hours of each other, mostly in night.
Nothing we can test fits. No fireball was recorded, no earthquake, the moon was not full, Venus was not unusually placed, and it was not a date people set off fireworks. That does not make it anything. It means the ordinary answers we can check did not apply.
Both answers are useful, and the second one more than people think. If you were outside on 2000-09-02 in that part of the world and saw nothing at all, say so. A record that only collects sightings can never be argued with.
