Powerful yet quiet sound, that goes through walls and is every where, yet no where specific. It can go on for weeks or months at a time, then just stop, and not be heard for a long time then start again. I hear it as sound, but some times it has an irregular pulse to it. I would describe it at the boarderline between feeling it and hearing it. Its in your head, but some times it have noticed at rare times, it is directional,
