A low hum in Japan, Yamanashi
Low-pitched hum similar to a distant motor; warbles slightly and randomly in intensity and frequency over short time periods. You didn't specifically ask, but it is unquestionably an internal hum (heard only in one ear, thousands of miles apart, in ares with different grid frequency, and cannot be recorded). Also not asked: I saw a doctor, and my eardrum and canal show no external signs of damage. I feel there's a high probability that it is physical and not neurological in nature, since certain mechanical actions (popping ears, yawning) can stop it temporarily.
