Like a diesel truck idling in the neighborhood or like when you put your head underwater in a hot tub with the jets running. I don't remember exactly when I started hearing it, however I would like to add that after my anxiety began (around 2014) the noise became more noticeable, which caused insomnia. I had trouble sleeping before this due to the noise, however it sounded like it was miles and miles away at that point. Where now it sounds like its a house or two down.
