An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Yvelines, France

On April 2, 1980 at around 11:30 PM, people observe in the sky a luminous ball shaped like a rugby ball. This motionless object is observed for 20 minutes. Then it moves very slowly and a sound of air being stirred, which the witnesses describe as a fan noise, is heard. This ball moves away due West. The observation will continue for almost an hour before being abandoned by the witnesses. No other testimony will be collected on this phenomenon, for which we lack information. The hypothesis of the night flight of a light helicopter is consistent with the testimonies and should not be ruled out, although it has not been verified.
