An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Vienne, France

On August 11, 1979, at around 9:10 PM, several people observed a peculiar luminous phenomenon. While the sun was setting, three rings of a red-orange color were visible on the horizon below a cloud cover. These discs then shrank, taking on the appearance of a horizontal line that quickly disappeared toward the North into the clouds. No other testimony was collected in the area. According to the witnesses' description, it is likely that this phenomenon was an optical effect caused by the setting sun reflecting on a low cloud cover.
