An account in Finistre, France

Between 24 and 28 January 1979, three witnesses observed unusual phenomena in the same area. On 24 January between 7:00 and 7:15 a.m., one witness reported seeing an orange, cigar-shaped craft. It moved slowly along a north-south trajectory and suddenly rose vertically, disappearing at very high speed while changing color. No military exercise by the naval air force was reported during that period of the year, and no other testimony was collected regarding this phenomenon, for which we lack information. On 28 January around 10:15 p.m., two other people spotted luminous phenomena. Blue and white glows with a red dot (according to one witness) appeared at regular intervals. According to the gendarmerie investigation, these glows came from the signal lights at the tops of the masts of a German cargo ship anchored in a bay. This different observation is classified as A.
