Screaming or howling in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, France
On the nights of December 8 and 9, 1976, around 11 p.m., military personnel observed for a few seconds the presence in the sky of several flying objects, round in shape, that they did not recognize. They moved from the southeast to the northwest slowly and silently.
About ten kilometers away, a military police dog unit noted that on those same nights their dogs, 10 in number, howled as if in mortal terror, unusually.
Another testimony was collected about an observation made 6 weeks earlier: a witness saw at the foot of the ridges a red light rising into the sky before disappearing behind a summit.
Surveillance was set up from December 12 to 30 following the military personnel's report, but no other observation was reported.
