An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Rhne, France

At 11 PM, the witnesses observe the silent passage of about ten red objects in the sky. The observation of red or orange balls flying in the sky for a few minutes, on a Saturday late in the evening, clearly suggests Thai lanterns released at the end of a party. The weather report from Lyon Bron (attached) indicates very weak, very unstable wind: it is not possible to estimate the wind direction at that moment and correlate it with the observation. It is noted, however, that the objects were flying slowly, which is consistent with a weak wind. GEIPAN classifies this case "B": probable observation of Thai lanterns.
