An account in Yvelines, France

On August 8, 2013 at around 11:10–11:15 PM, two people in an apartment noticed a fairly intense and constant noise and observed the low-altitude passage of a rectangular, dark object that they did not recognize. Red and white lights were seen. Given the elements collected, namely the lights, the distance and size compatible with those of a military cargo plane, the typical noise of such a plane, the gray color, the indefinable shape against the night sky background, the corresponding airway, and the plane having already used it, we can conclude that the UAP observed by the witnesses is very likely a military cargo plane, an A400M, on approach to the Vélizy-Villacoublay airfield. This testimony is of very good consistency: two witnesses who gave two statements to the Gendarmerie and to GEIPAN, well detailed and each accompanied by a sketch; however, no photo or video documents. The observation is ultimately not very strange, because it involves an ultimately ordinary object, but observed under unusual conditions, since it is infrequent. This case is to be classified as "B" as a very likely observation of a military cargo plane.
