An account in La Runion, France

On March 27, 1976, between 6:30 and 6:55 a.m., a soldier in his vehicle suddenly broke down. All the dashboard lights were off. His attention was then drawn to a patch of grayish fog with a metallic reflection. It was located near the river, 15 or 20 meters from the vehicle. Putting his head out the window, he followed the phenomenon with his eyes as it rose and disappeared at high speed above the buildings in a south-southwest direction. Very astonished by what he had just seen, he then noticed that his dashboard was lit and easily restarted the engine to drive off. No other testimony was collected about this phenomenon, for which we lack information.
