An account in Gard, France

On December 29, 2012 at 1:05 PM, two people in a car are intrigued by the presence of 8 to 10 white luminous phenomena seen through the windshield in a clear sky. No sound is heard during the entire observation. Only one testimony is collected, and the witness sends to GEIPAN a set of photographs taken with his mobile phone. The photos show various shapes, more or less luminous: the witness does not specify, among all these artifacts, which ones he saw with the naked eye. Indeed, the commented photo shows various reflections on the camera optics or on the windshield; with the naked eye, the witness must have noticed the reflections on the windshield, but he probably later discovered even more surprising effects on the photos. Given the observation conditions, in a car facing south, at the time of zenith, near the winter solstice, the conditions are ideal for observing multiple reflections of the sun on glass or optics. GEIPAN classifies this case "B": observation of sun reflections through the windshield.
