An account in Guadeloupe, France

A witness reports an observation made by several people on August 26, 2012 at 9:30 PM: 12 objects move silently toward the West. These objects appear in waves of several objects. They are described as having an ovoid shape with a red outline, an orange interior, and 3 clearly visible yellow balls inside the objects. The witness filed his testimony with the gendarmerie, which will conduct its investigation. The local press will also be contacted. The color of the objects, the slow movement according to the slight east wind (see map and weather report), the release in series, are the characteristics of a release of flying lanterns. An in-depth photographic analysis showed that the light emitted by the objects was quite similar to that emitted by Thai lanterns (see photographic analysis). But these objects are not circular or elliptical like ordinary lanterns, but composed of 3 yellow points in a red-orange envelope. Three Thai lanterns attached together would have the same appearance. GEIPAN classifies this case "B": probable observation of Thai lanterns, attached together in threes.
