An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Loire-Atlantique, France

On Monday, January 9, 2012 at 7:02 in the morning, a motorist is surprised and intrigued by the movements in the cloudy sky of two concentric luminous circles themselves made up of discontinuous rounded elements. This whole thing is seen for nearly one kilometer. After two minutes of observation, arriving on a highway, the motorist can no longer see this phenomenon. No other testimony was collected. The almost perfect similarity of the phenomenon described by the witness with the effect produced by certain types of entertainment projectors clearly points toward this type of origin for this observation (see the investigation notes). The day of the week is surprising for this type of entertainment, and there is a priori no nightclub nearby, but it could have been a test with rented equipment. On the other hand, the phenomenon strangely resembles the effect produced by this type of projector: see the video Wedding Searchlight Hire Nottingham. GEIPAN classifies this case as "B": probable observation of a luminous entertainment display produced by a rotating-beam sky-tracer.
