On Monday, June 12, 1989, a farmer noticed in one of his wheat fields an area of about 25 meters by 3 meters where the wheat was yellowed, flattened, and even torn out. At the center of the trace there is a hole 10 cm by 20 cm deep, as well as a groove in the soil along the axis of the trace. Several hypotheses were put forward, such as lightning, or the more likely one of the "rough" landing of a hot-air balloon, although at that time and in that place all aerial activity was banned by prefectoral decree due to the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget. This last hypothesis, however, is favored by SEPRA.
